The new official fees for IP services in Vietnam will be applied as of March 21, 2009. Below are major changes under the newly issued Circular 22/2009/TT-BTC:

All official fees are slightly increased;

Filing fee vary depending on the type of filing, namely (i) paper application filing; (ii) filing accompanied by an electronic courier containing all application documents; and (iii) online filing. However, the filing numbered (ii) and (iii) above are still under the preparation by the National Office of Intellectual Property, accordingly they are currently not available for use. We will immediately inform our client upon they are available.

Granting fee depends on number of (i) independent claims for patent; (ii) embodiments for industrial design; (ii) class(es) of goods/services for trademark;
