The Consolidated Law on Intellectual Property Law No. 67/VBHN-VPQH has just been issued
On April 10, 2025, the Consolidated Law on Intellectual Property Law (“IP Law”) No. 67/VBHN-VPQH was published in the Government Office’s Official Gazette. This is a single complete document combining the original 2005 IP Law with all its subsequent amendments and supplements.
The IP Law No. 50/2005/QH11 was passed by the National Assembly on November 29, 2005, effective from July 1, 2006, and has been amended and supplemented by the following laws:
– Law No. 36/2009/QH12 amending, supplementing a number of articles of the IP Law, passed by the National Assembly on June 19, 2009;
– Law No. 42/2019/QH14 amending, supplementing a number of articles of the IP Law, passed by the National Assembly on June 14, 2019;
– Law No. 07/2022/QH15 amending, supplementing a number of articles of the IP Law, passed by the National Assembly on June 16, 2022;
– Law on Science, Technology and Innovation No. 93/2025/QH15, passed by the National Assembly on June 27, 2025 (namely Article 71.7 amending, supplementing, abolishing a number of articles of the IP Law); and
– Law No. 131/2025/QH15 amending, supplementing a number of articles of the IP Law, passed by the National Assembly on December 10, 2025 and effective as of April 1, 2026.
The Consolidated IP Law includes detailed notes on the amendments and supplements to each article, facilitating the tracking of the progress of legal regulations on intellectual property in chronological order, helping IP practitioners save time in searching and comparing legal changes in the IP field.
