The VNIPO Accelerates Digital Transformation and Online Filing
In an effort to implement Resolution No. 57 NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, the VNIPO has identified digital transformation as a key task to achieve the goal that by the end of 2025, 85% of applications for registration of industrial property rights will be submitted online, moving towards 100% of eligible procedures being provided completely online.
The online filing procedure is expected to help streamline administrative procedures, speed up filing process, and reduce cumbersome paperwork that is a nightmare for many businesses. Submitting documents online 24/7 may help people and businesses save time, costs and travel effort. Users only need to register an account at https://dichvucong.ipvietnam.gov.vn, then they can conveniently carry out the filing procedure through the following steps: selecting procedure, filling forms, attaching documents, signing, paying online and following up on the application status.
To speed up the digitalization process, the VNIPO plans to organize training sessions to help organizations and individuals master the online filing process, as well as how to handle potential problems, especially configuring digital signatures to ensure the legal value of electronic documents. On August 11 and 22, 2025, its online training sessions with the theme “Improving the efficiency of using online public services in the field of IP” attracted about 500 participants, including individuals, businesses, patent and trademark attorneys and officials from Provincial Departments of Science and Technology.
